Rock the Trend: Denim

The end of summer is near, but the warmth of the days is far from waning, so how do you look fabulous in the late summer/early fall trends?  It’s easy, just go back to a timeless classic…denim!  By following our three favorite ways to rock denim at this time of year, you will be able to look like a showstopper for every occasion, whether it be casual or dressy.  We also give you some of the key pieces for each look.  So get ready to be girly, chic or glam all with the help of everyone’s favorite wardrobe essential, denim!

Chic, the French word for up to the minute style and fabulous all in one, is at the top of our list on how ladies’ should rock denim at this time of year.  If you want this style, you want to keep your silhouettes sleek and slim.  Tailored blazers, dark-wash denim jeans, and luxurious fabrics are the basics to pull this look off.  The perfect ensemble would be a pair of dark straight-leg or slim jeans with a camel colored cashmere shell or blouse, muted-colored tailored single-breasted blazer, and a pair of dark patent leather stilettos.  Mix and match patterned blazers with solid color blouses so as to be as coordinated as possible.  You only want one item in this ensemble to be busy, as being chic means being a bit demure.   

Glam is something every woman wants to be, especially when stepping out for the evening.  For this look, be inspired by the 70’s!  High-waisted flared jeans, asymmetrical and strapless tops, and shiny accessories best describe this look.  The perfect ensemble is a pair of high-waisted sailor jeans with gold button detail, a one-shoulder blousy jersey top with jewel accents, a chunky gold cuff, sparkling clutch handbag, and wedge heeled sandals in a coordinating color.  You will be fit to step out for any evening occasion.  Try to keep patterns to a minimum if you want to wear more accents, and vice versa, as you do not want to look overdone or clownish. 

Girly, the most casual of our three denim looks, is the most versatile.  For this look, you want to reminisce back to prom, ruffles, and anything silver as an accent.  Skirts are a hit with this look, as the perfect ensemble would include a layered denim skirt, flirty top, silver strappy sandals, and pretty silver clutch.  You can also keep this look casual by wearing a ruffled or layered denim dress.  This look is for everyday and will be perfect for that lunch date. 

You are now ready to look fabulous for this last part of the summer.  The greatest thing about this trend is that you probably already have many pieces in your wardrobe that will work for any of the three looks.  Have fun, experiment, and rejuvenate your denim classics in a multitude of ways.  Good luck and Happy Shopping!
