I work in a large professional services firms. I love that dress. As for whether or not it is appropriate, that depends on three factors: 1 – How does the suit fit? If you are particularly provocative or legs long, it could end up revealing more skin than you want. In this case, leggings or a demure cardigan would keep it decent without ruining the dress for occasions later. 2 – What accessories are you going to wear with it? If you wear heavy makeup, a lot of rhinestone and stiletto heels, might be a little 'over-the-top. Dancers, light makeup and a bun would maintain its class. 3 – How is your stuffy office? If you wear everyday is very conservative, you may consider a different dress, although I personally do not see anything wrong with that. Just remember that the way to behave at a party in office is more important than any outfit. You might be socks networking and a cocktail dress and still be in class than the girl passed by the bathroom door. Similarly, you could dress like a marble school and even if you end up looking tarty Dirty Dancing with your boss. You sound like an intelligent person, though, so I'm not too worried about you.
